Privacy Policy

Applies to the CuffWise iPhone app. Last updated: August 11, 2026.

CuffWise is a private blood-pressure log. It is designed so that your health data never has to leave your iPhone: there is no account, no cloud service of ours, no analytics, and no advertising.

The short version

• Your readings, notes, and reminders live on your device and sync across your devices through your private iCloud account — never through our servers.
• Apple Health export is optional, off by default, and write-only.
• We run no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising — and we never sell data.
• Purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.

Information the app stores

CuffWise keeps the following on your iPhone, in the app's local database:

• Readings you confirm: systolic and diastolic values, pulse, date and time, arm and posture, optional notes, and optional context tags you choose (for example medication, caffeine, exercise, stress, or poor sleep).
• Reminders you create: measurement reminder schedules and, if you use them, medication names, dosages, and reminder times.
• Preferences: app settings such as your Apple Health export choice.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on your device and, when you are signed in to iCloud, synced between your own devices using Apple CloudKit's private database. That means the synced copy lives in your personal iCloud storage, protected by your Apple Account and Apple's security measures. It is not stored on — and never passes through — any server that we operate, and we have no technical ability to read it.

CuffWise has no account system of its own. Because we never receive your data, we cannot access, read, or recover it for you; if you lose your devices and your iCloud access, we cannot restore your history.

Apple Health

If you explicitly turn it on in Settings, CuffWise writes your confirmed blood-pressure and pulse readings to Apple Health. CuffWise does not read any data from Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with data brokers. You can turn this export off at any time in the app's Settings, and manage permissions in iOS Settings > Health.

Purchases and subscriptions

CuffWise Premium purchases (subscriptions and the lifetime option) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store your payment information. The app only receives from Apple whether your Premium entitlement is active. Purchase history, billing, cancellation, and refunds are managed by Apple under your Apple ID and Apple's own privacy policy.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

CuffWise contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no cookies. We do not collect device identifiers, usage statistics, crash reports tied to your identity, or location. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized App Store statistics (such as install counts and opt-in crash reports managed by your iOS privacy settings) that do not identify you.

When information leaves your device

Only in these cases, all initiated and controlled by you or Apple:

• iCloud sync:your data syncs between your own devices through your private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), governed by your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see it.
• Reports you share: when you export a PDF summary or CSV file and send it with the iOS share sheet (for example to your clinician), the file goes only where you send it.
• Apple Health: readings you chose to export, stored by Apple under your Apple Health settings.

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays under your control until you delete it. Deleting a reading in the app removes it from your device and, during the next sync, from iCloud as well. To remove everything, delete the app and its data, or clear CuffWise's storage in iOS Settings > your Apple Account > iCloud > Manage Account Storage. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing on our side to delete.

Children's privacy

CuffWise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since all data stays on the device, no children's data is ever transmitted to us.

Your choices and rights

Because your data never leaves your iPhone, you already hold full control: you can view, edit, export, and delete everything directly in the app. Notification and Apple Health permissions can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings. If you have questions about privacy, contact us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. The version posted here is the current one.
