Terms of Use

Applies to the CuffWise iPhone app. Last updated: August 11, 2026.

These Terms govern your use of the CuffWise iPhone app. By downloading or using CuffWise you agree to them. Please read the medical disclaimer carefully — it defines what the app is and is not.

1. What CuffWise is

CuffWise is a personal record-keeping tool. It helps you log blood-pressure and pulse values that you obtain from your own blood-pressure monitor, review trends, set reminders, and create summaries you can share with your clinician.

2. Medical disclaimer — what CuffWise is not

• CuffWise does not measure blood pressure. It is not a medical device and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA or any other regulator.
• CuffWise does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or medication guidance. Category ranges shown in the app follow the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline and are educational only — they are not a diagnosis of hypertension or any other condition.
• Never adjust, start, or stop any medication based on the app. Medication reminders are reminders only; always follow your clinician's instructions.
• If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency — including a reading above 180/120 mmHg with symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, numbness or weakness, vision changes, or difficulty speaking — call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Do not rely on the app in an emergency.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use a validated blood-pressure monitor and follow its instructions and your clinician's guidance on measurement technique.
• Review every value you enter before saving it.
• Keep your device and its backups secure, since your health data is stored on your device under your control.
• Be at least 13 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

4. CuffWise Premium — purchases and subscriptions

CuffWise offers optional paid Premium features (such as clinician-ready PDF and CSV reports) as auto-renewing subscriptions or a one-time lifetime purchase. All billing is handled by Apple:

• Subscriptions (monthly or yearly) renew automatically until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
• Free trial: where offered, the 7-day free trial of the yearly plan converts to a paid yearly subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Manage or cancel anytimein iOS Settings > your name > Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; Premium stays active until then.
• Lifetime purchase:a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks Premium features permanently for your Apple ID, including on your other devices via Restore Purchases. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the product, not of the user.
• Refunds are issued at Apple's discretion; request them at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot process refunds directly.
• If prices change, Apple notifies you in advance and the new price applies at the next renewal unless you cancel.

5. License and acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use CuffWise on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer except as permitted by law, or misuse the app.

6. Intellectual property

CuffWise, its design, and its content (excluding your data) are owned by High-tech Zone Runlin Software R&D Studio. Your readings and notes remain yours.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any health outcome, medical decision, or data loss arising from use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, fifty US dollars).

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter informally. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the law of your residence.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The current version is always posted on this page with its revision date. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
